Messenger Plus! is a plug-in, Windows Live Messenger must have to be installed before using it. Messenger Plus! enhances Windows Live Messenger function. I only discuss setting notifications here.

Prevent Losing Files Of My Documents When Formating C:\

Do you have trouble of losing personal documents when computer is going for format?

We store our musics, pictures and other personal documents in My Documents folder, which its default route is in C:\Documents And Settings\User\My Documents\. When something goes wrong (such as virus infected,windows failure) and need to format C:\, we'll lose our important documents. Here's a small tip we can prevent this to be happened.
Generally we can format the C:\ leaving other drives such as D:\ in its original state. Thus, we can set My Documents target to D:\ instead then we won't be panic when computer need to reinstall system.

First, you have to create a new folder in a different drive, manually move or copy all documents from My Documents to the new folder. After it, right click the My Documents folder at the desktop and choose "Properties", there, we can identify My Document's target, click on the "Move" button and browse to the new folder you've just created,"OK". You may double click at the My Document icon in the desktop, is it just like before? From now on, your computer can format C:\ and leave documents in D:\ with no worries.

WinRAR encryption & split file volume

WinRAR is a nice compression software as it supports various of file types,such as *.zip,*.7z,*.iso...
After its 40days of trial period expires,WinRAR still can compress and decompress files.

The Layout of WinRAR

To create an encrypted archive,click at the "Add" button.And the following window appears.
Go to the "Files" tab to add files that need to compress and click the "Append" button to browse the file's location.
To encrypt it,go to the "Advance" tab,and click the "Set password..." button and enter your prefered password.Be sure you to set your password wisely!

WinRAR marks a star beside an encrypted file.When you open that file,it request for password.
Sometimes we need to split a big file into seperate volume for certain purpose,such as copy to a diskette which is a small capacity storage media or e-mail which only allow a maximum filesize of 10MB per file.Remember only RAR files can be split,zip files doesn't support this function.At the "General" tab choose the archive format as RAR and click or type each splited files volume.
The splited files are named with *.part*.rar,all those splited must be gather together in order to retain the original file.

Delete&Install Keys Of Kaspersky

Sometimes we need to delete the activation key of Kaspersky for certain reason.This article teaches how to delete the installed Kaspersky key and also how to install a key in a correct way.
This is the layout of Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.Go to the "License"Tab as shown above.Click at the button "Merge/Delete".
The above window will pop up and just select delete key.
After the key was successfully removed.The "Merge/Delete" button will become the "Activate the application" so click this button to install a new key.
Next,just choose the option of "Activate using the key file".
After browsed the key file,Kaspersky will determine whether the key is available or not.Click "Activate" to install the selected key.
*Please note that double click on the key file doesn't install the key.It must be install through the above method.

The layout of Kaspersky 2009(Kaspersky 8)is as follow:
At the update tab,click on the "Standard" and choose "Settings..."

At the "Additional"tab,tick the box of "Copy updates to folder".You may browse a specfic location as your choice(It can also be a folder in a folder,but it is recommend to be located a folder in harddrive,the folder can be wholly copy to pendrive for another computer).

Then go to the "Source"tab and press"+Add",now locate the previous location for it(It can also be a folder inside a pendrive).OK after done.

Finally,uncheck the Kaspersky Lab's update server and tick the folder you choose and a OK for it.Now,it can be update without online.

Repairing Shi Xian's Computer

Last week,YaoHui&HuiLing and I had gone to Shi Xian's,Penny's and JiaQi's off-campus hostel at Desa Palma.At that moment Shi Xian took out her laptop to play songs,I sensed the annoying Windows Genuine Advantage Message.Other from that,there was a "God must be creazy" at the internet explorer6 title.I'd told her I can repair these problems and finally yesterday(27th August 2008) had the chance to finish it for her.

These are the process.
Firstly,we want to remove the Internet Explorer's strange title.
1.Open the Run from start menu(I usually press WindowsLogo key + R),type "Regedit" at the bar and press "Enter".The Registry Editior now appear.
2.I'd only wants to find the string value that contains the strange message.I pressed "Ctrl + F" and typed "god" and can find the full strange message instantly.
3.Right click and delete that value directly and Internet Explorer can recover its default title.
Windows Genuine Advantage This may be suffer by automatic updates.Sometimes the automatic updates may download something called"Windows Genuine Advantage Tool",if choose express install without checking what is installing,this may be happen.
This advantage tool usually store at C:/Windows/System32/ and it has two files,one is Wgatray.exe and another is Wgalogon.dll.To remove this message,our mission is to delete these two files.If there's a star-like icon at the taskbar,that means the Wgatray.exe is running.It cannot simply delete from the computer as it's running.Ending up its task from the Task Manager is also useless because it may reborn shortly.So I'd got a strong file deletion tool call"360filekiller".Just locate the two files and click delete then it's finish.
